10 Weeks

Just a few minutes after the first picture was taken, this is what I found!

Monday we went to the park for the first time since Anna was born. Emily had a blast, even in the wind, and Anna slept in the Moby wrap. We went again on Wednesday, with much less wind, and stayed for about 45 minutes. It was so much fun.

This week we hit a milestone. Wednesday night, I decided to try letting Anna sleep on her back. Not only did she sleep well on her back, she slept from 11-5:15! It was glorious! She's done it two more times since then and it has been so nice to get 5-6 hours of sleep at a time.

This will be a week of planning. I'm going to Granbury on Friday to meet up with my best friend so I'll be gathering all the stuff I'll be taking. We're doing a project trip instead of a shopping trip this time so I need to make sure I've got it all together. The projects, that is. Not my life, necessarily! :-) So, off I go to prepare for MOPS tomorrow.

Some cuteness

Just some cuteness from this week.

Emily wanted some music yesterday morning and I caught her doing this.

Emily in a box. A little different than the "Emily in a box" from August of 2008!

Thank you Aunt Jenni for my new leg warmers! They're so cute and they fit great!!

Which one is Emily and which one is Anna?

How about this one?

Yet another one...

And one more little quiz...

Muffin Tin Monday

(Clockwise from top left: chips, lunchmeat, cheddar whales, Tootsie Roll (eaten first!), grapes, applesauce)

I read about this novel idea on Mama to 4 Blessings last week and thought I needed to try it. Last Wednesday when I tried it, it didn't go over really well. However, I will say that today was a success. Emily ate everything except the lunchmeat, but she did try one bite (after being bribed with an M&M). I think I'll keep doing this, though it won't be on Mondays until the summer. But, it's still a fun way to get her to eat many things at a time!

You can see more Muffin Tin Monday ideas at Muffin Tin Mom.

2 months/9 weeks

.

Anna turned 2 months yesterday. Today, she also turned 9 weeks, so you get 2 pictures of her today.

I got a couple cute pictures of the girls on Valentine's Day. Emily got to wear her pjs to MOPS and was so excited about it.

Anna got a chance to spend some time in the Bumbo this week. She does okay for a few minutes, but then falls to the side. Oh well.

Anna had her 2 month checkup on Friday and she is now 10 lb 2 oz (25%) and 22.5" long (50%). She is in good health and got her 2 month immunizations.

Much to my happiness and dismay, we've discovered a cause for her reflux. She appears to be allergic, or at least sensitive, to milk. I have been off cow's milk for a week and she has not been spitting up near as much. Last night, I indulged in a creamy chocolate dessert and she spit up like she always had. So, I guess it's no dairy for me. I've been happy with soy milk, but need to figure out what other substitutions I can make for things like butter and cheese. Any suggestions?

Yesterday, we gave Anna some tummy time, something she doesn't often get, and she rolled over! From her tummy to her back. So exciting! I guess I need to let her get down on the floor a little more often.

Today was Anna's baby blessing at church. A sweet time with family surrounding us. I love having grandparents close by!

8 weeks

This was a fairly typical week. We had MOPS Steering Team meeting on Monday, I worked on Tuesday. Nothing exciting. Except that Anna has now had several naps in her crib. This is quite an accomplishment because she's not surrounded by the Boppy and she's only slightly inclined. But, she's slept for an hour or so at a time. Yea! I do, however, miss holding her all the time, but it's nice to have a little break occasionally.

Emily saw me using the Baby Bjorn (I rarely use it because it hurts my shoulders) and decided that Lacy needed to be in it. So, I put it on her and put Lacy in it for her. Not a great picture of Emily, but you can see Lacy in it!

Anna is practicing her cheers for the Super Bowl

As I mentioned before, this has been an unusual week. Monday night and Tuesday brought ice and snow to Abilene. Four inches of snow! By Tuesday afternoon, we had some lovely icicles on our house. According to Debbie (see below), we win for the best icicles!

Yesterday, Debbie of Pure Photography came to our house to take pictures. You might remember that Debbie took pictures of Emily at 6 weeks and at 1 year. I just love her pictures! Debbie was such a good sport and let Emily "tate pitures" with "Mommy's tamra."

Emily also snapped a few shots of Anna. This one was pretty good!

After lunch, Anna fell asleep hard enough for me to get a few pictures for her birth announcement. Here are a few of my favorites. One made it to the announcement. I'll let you figure out which one!

Snow days!

As most of you know, we've had a few snow days this week...this is #3. Thankfully, Pearlie came over yesterday and today to help keep the sanity in our house. Emily is just so much better behaved when someone else is around! Plus, I was able to do 5 loads of laundry and 1 load of diapers yesterday...very difficult to keep up with if I'm distracted with my own stuff!

Tuesday, I let Emily go out for a few minutes. I couldn't play with her very well because I had Anna strapped to me (inside my coat), but she didn't want to stay out very long anyway. Good thing we had the snow suit! Made going out much easier.

Anna had her own warm outfit too! Unfortunately, it's a 6-12 month size so it really swallowed her. Her feet didn't even come to the leg holes!

Just a couple cute pictures.

(So glad we had this sleep sack. It kept Anna warm Tuesday night when we lost power for 4 hours and had no heat. Plus, it's so cute!)

That afternoon we made Brown Sugar Cookies. Phillip said they're one of my best so far. They were pretty good, if I say so myself.

Yesterday, Pearlie came over and we made banana bread in the morning and not a whole lot else for the rest of the day.

This morning, so far, we've managed to not really accomplish anything, other than 1 load of laundry. Emily did show off her new hairstyle to Aunt Jenni on Google chat, but that's about it. Emily had her first ponytail last week, but Pearlie didn't get to see it because she was sick. So, I decided to do it again today and take better pictures so Aunt Jenni could see it too.

Yea! Now, if we can make it through tomorrow, we'll be good. Unfortunately, like the thousands of other people in Abilene, we'll have to go to the grocery store before the Super Bowl!
