New car seat

Emily enjoyed her new car seat yesterday. On the way to Brownwood, we really thought she would sleep, but I think there was just too much new to look at and play with. However, she did sleep well in it on the way home. We did discover, though, that she needs some kind of pillow. There is just so much room around her head that when she fell asleep, her head fell forward and rested on the seat belt. Any suggestions?

Yep. She tries to push on the chest clip, but since it's a parachute buckle (thanks, Mom, for the correct term), she can't do anything with it. It will be much more difficult to transfer between cars, so we'll just have to decide whose car we'll be in and stick with it.

glad it fits well in your car....maybe you could do a modified insert like she had when she was teeny for her head?

I have thought about making one using rolled up towels. But, it needs to be something she can't just pull out and play with, too. And, there's no place to attach it (at least, not easily!).

I'm glad it fits in your car and that she can't unfasten it!
Maybe some of the pillows for little-bitty babies could serve as a pattern? A horseshoe of padding (like a bucky) but with a piece of fabric connecting the two ends behind her head?

Yea, Shelby does that too sometimes. I try to set her head back and she just does it again. Talk about a kink in your neck! There is not much room though because there is this padding that goes around her head in the car seat. I don't think that's the reason. HUH??? I don't know how to help. I know that if I'm in the car and begin nodding off my head falls forward and when it happens to me I just lay the seat back. Maybe you could tilt the car seat back a little when you see her nod off. Just an idea.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting! I love my comments!!!

I just read this and I thought I would share that my Emmalee had this same problem when she moved into her big seat. I bought a head rest that is actually made for infants but it fit for her...and it attched to the straps so it was very easy for me and she was not able to get it off. I bought it a Walmart and its Eddie Bauer - I don't know if it would work for you and Emily but thats what worked for us! Hope you figure something out!!
