31 & 32 weeks

This past week we were in Canmore, Alberta, Canada, enjoying a much-needed break from the hot, dry weather here in Texas. The highs were around 70 and the lows in the 40s and 50s. It was wonderful. But, more about that after I get my pick of the 979 pictures that Jenni took. (No, I'm not kidding!)

For now, here are Anna's 31 & 32 week pictures. She's still eating cereal and veggies or fruit once a day most days a week. While on vacation, she ate 3 times the amount of veggies or fruit at a time as she's ever eaten. Maybe she's hungrier than we think!

She is most decidedly a mama's girl lately. If she can see me, she must have me. While it's nice to be wanted, it does get a little old. But, this too shall pass.

Every once in a while, I find the girls playing together. It's so wonderful! (Although, usually, Emily is saying, "No, Anna! Leave that alone!" She'll learn!)


Well, on to our week. Have to get ready for a quick trip this weekend for a cousin's wedding, then I think we're home to stay for a while.

7 months

You just heard about what Anna's doing, so I'll just add that we had her eyes checked today. The doctor (whom I've been seeing for about 20 years) said in 31 years of practice, he's never, ever had a baby sit as still as Anna did today. She sat in my lap and even leaned toward him as he shined the lights in her eyes. Her vision is just what it should be at this age.

30 weeks

Ballet camp last week. Emily enjoyed the time and got a special visit from Cinderella on the last day.

This weekend, we were blessed by a visit from our friends Kevin, Kellie & Jake. We don't see them often, but we follow each other's blogs! It was so fun to visit with them and, while Phillip & Kevin did a catering job for Bogie's, Kellie, Jake, Emily, Anna & I went to the zoo. Although it was 90 degrees (and felt so much hotter), we enjoyed the time together. The kids had a blast playing together and the adults did too!

Anna is learning that she can roll to get where and what she wants. Emily is learning that she'll have to pick up her toys!

Goings On

This week has been Ballet Camp for Emily. The first two days she really DID NOT want to get in line or go into the room (she was fine after a few minutes), but today she lined up just like all the other little girls. This was after the first day of camp. Obviously, she had a good time!


Monday, Anna & I stopped at CVS to pick up a few things while Emily was at camp and it was just easier to carry her in. Her first time in a shopping cart seat...she was a pro!


Something about having company motivates me. Our good friends Kevin, Kellie & Jake are coming on Friday and I finally took the hour and a half that it took to hang this in our kitchen. Phillip's grandmother embroidered the towels for me a few years ago and I finally figured out what to do with them. So cute! They say "wash day," "bake day," "iron day," "market day," "cleaning day," "garden day." (Thanks for the inspiration, Kelly!)

29 weeks

Ok, so I forgot to actually post the week picture yesterday. I took it and got the post up and even a video. But, forgot the picture.

It's official! (and 29 weeks)

We have an army-crawler! Anna started tonight and we got it on video. I'm sure she can't wait to show you all in person, but, for now, this will have to do.



She's still been eating cereal and pears & apples. We'll try sweet potatoes this week and see how that goes.

I was blessed this weekend to spend time with the new steering team for Highland MOPS and was very encouraged by a couple ladies. We had a meal Saturday night and I figured I'd just need to bring something for me to eat. These two ladies went and bought stuff specially so they could make part of the meal dairy free for me. If y'all are reading this, thank you!!! That meant so much to me.

28 weeks

This week, Anna has started eating pears. She seems to like them and they have had their, ahem, other side effect. I'm seeing more poopy diapers now than I have in a long time! :-) But, she seems to tolerate them well and I hope to keep trying new things this week. Perhaps applesauce and sweet potatoes. She's just eating solid foods once a day and we're slowly increasing how much she eats. Since we've seen how sensitive her tummy can be, I really don't want to overwhelm her so we're taking things very slowly.

She's starting to suck her thumb more often and doesn't always want her pacifier. I see this as a good thing because pacifiers are a nuisance!

She's not yet crawling (yea!), but she can roll and scoot a little to get where she wants to go. I'm not sure I'm ready for her to crawl. I'm just getting used to putting her on the floor!
